After much anticipation of an April due date, my baby decided to arrive 1 month early in March! To my surprise, we had a little girl, Ivy Maude Evea (pronounced Uh-vay-ah). Born in a hurry with an incredible birth, we received difficult news shortly after that she had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. This condition came as a surprise and meant she needed to be in the NICU and required surgery to repair her diaphragm days later. It was an emotional roller coaster with many challenges and also many joys.
After close to 3 weeks in hospital, our baby finally came home with us and we have been figuring out life as a family of 4 ever since! We’re in love with our strong little girl and feel so blessed to have her at home and doing well.
I was and continue to be so thankful for my locum Dr. Deirdre Jasper ND – for stepping in so quickly (and early!) to take over patient visits the week after the birth! In addition, I’m so glad to have been at Nature Doctors clinic through all of these unexpected events. The doctors and staff have supported me personally as well as facilitated the continued smooth running of my practice.
I will be off on maternity leave for the coming year as planned, but I encourage you to continue pursuing your health care goals while I am temporarily away. Dr. Jasper is an amazing naturopathic doctor with a passion for health and healing. In addition to all of the standard naturopathic treatments, Dr. Jasper ND also practices Bowen Therapy and has a special interest in hormone balancing, women’s health & digestive function.
To book some time with Dr. Jasper in the coming weeks / months – call Nature Doctors at 204-943-6079. Additionally, existing patients may continue to call or drop in for supplement refills as needed and prescribed.
Wishing you all health and continued healing!
